Absolutely. All sessions are recorded and automatically you will be issued a certificate of participation.
I’ve never tutored before. Can I still be a coach?
YES! You don’t need any formal tutoring experience to be a coach at Siddiqui Academy. We will give you all the tools and training you’ll need to succeed, including subject-specific review materials and an optional, self-paced course on how to be a great tutor.
What do I need to do to apply?
In addition to basic information, if you are under 16 years old, we will also ask for parent’s approval once you are matched with your student. The application includes questions about why you are interested in virtual volunteering. We take these answers seriously and require thoughtful answers.

Where are the students we tutor from?
The students we help often come from various backgrounds like those who:
- Want to accelerate their learning in different subjects
- Impacted due to the current pandemic
- Need extra support in various subjects
- Want to explore different extra-curricular activities like Model United Nations, debate, creative writing and music
We work directly with students in our virtual classroom, providing free tutoring, to help them improve their grades and academic motivation. Most students are between 5th and 10th grade.
Are teaching resources available for tutors?
We do not have a set curriculum because every student has a unique set of needs. We rely heavily on our tutors to discuss with students what they need help with and start from there. We also provide some free recourses and tips for our tutors. Finally, we use Zoom which provides a great video chatroom for our tutors to help each other.
What does the virtual classroom look like?
Tutors need to access to a laptop with a built-in camera. Our platform is built on Zoom and includes a whiteboard and video and also records sessions.
Do I need any special equipment to communicate with students?
You do not need any specific device! Any personal computer, laptop, or tablet will work fine.
